Odds Bet
The odds bet is the only wager in the casino that pays true odds, so its house edge is exactly zero. You can only make it after a point is set, as a backup to a Pass Line or Come bet. It pays 2:1 on the 4 and 10, 3:2 on the 5 and 9, and 6:5 on the 6 and 8.
0% edge, the best bet in the building.

How to place it
After your Pass Line or Come bet has a point, set additional chips directly behind it in the unmarked space. There is no printed box for it.
Also called: free odds, pass odds, take odds, come odds.
Frequently asked questions
What is the house edge on the odds bet?
Zero. The odds bet pays the true probability of the point hitting before a 7, so over the long run the casino makes nothing on it. That is why it is the single best bet in craps.
Why can't I just bet odds by itself?
The odds bet only exists as a backup to a Pass Line, Come, Don't Pass, or Don't Come bet. The casino offers the zero-edge odds as a hook to draw you onto the line bets, which do carry an edge.
How much odds can I take?
It depends on the table. Common limits are 3x-4x-5x, meaning up to three times your line bet on the 4 and 10, four times on the 5 and 9, and five times on the 6 and 8. Some tables offer 10x or more.
